I try to activate my filemaker calendars on iCal, and get this error.

The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “admin@xxx.xx.xx.xxx.” Make sure you enter them correctly.

I KNOW i entered it correctly. I am wondering if there is somewhere I should start looking first?

It could be that the URL is incorrect or partially incorrect: make sure you're using the iCal url from the instructions in Zulu's publish page, something like http://<ipaddress>/zulu/calendars/ZuluSampleData/

The other thing I'd check is access privileges, making sure the privilege set for the account you're using has XML web publishing extended privileges.
