Is there a way to set / re-set the order that field are used in browse mode when entering data?

Sure. in layout mode select Layout / Set Tab order. You may find it easier to "clear" the existing tab order and start anew rather than trying to renumber the current tab order.

Thanks John, that's the piece I was looking for. 'been programming in Filemaker for about a week. I'm a little slow on finding where things are.
